- Mild swelling, tenderness, & bruising is expected for up to two weeks.
- Abnormal bruising, loss of color, increase in pain, or bruising beyond the lip border, let the provider know immediately.
- Ice and Tylenol can be taken for inflammation and tenderness. Arnica can be used for bruising.
- Do not massage unless instructed to do so!
- Lumps and bumps, along with uneven swelling is normal throughout the healing process.
- No working out, sauna, steam room, or direct sunlight for 24-48 hours post treatment.
- Avoid using straws and smoking for the first week after lip filler.
- No makeup for 24-48 hours post filler treatments in order to prevent infection.
- Aquaphor and Vaseline are great for moisture and to help promote healing.
- Avoid aspirin, alcohol, fish oil, ibuprofen post treatment for 24 hours. Blood thinners can contribute to bruising.
- Staying hydrated by drinking a lot of water will help the healing process.
- Pinpoint bruising, tenderness, & redness at the injection site is normal.
- Give your neurotoxin 2 full weeks to fully kick in.
- Neurotoxins typically last 3-4 months on average.
- You may see your neurotoxin START to kick in at days 3-5, but always allow it two full weeks to take its full course of action.
- At two weeks, a follow-up or dose adjustment may be necessary.
- No working out, sauna, steam room, or direct sunlight for 24-48 hours post treatment.
- No makeup for 24-48 hours post treatment to avoid infection.
- Washing your face, doing a light rinse/ wash, not using aggression, along with avoiding jade rollers, dermal rollers, and clearasonic cleanser brushes for the first few days following treatment.
- No facials or massages for at least a week following treatment.
- No tight fitting hats for the first week following treatment.
- Don’t lay flat for 4 hours post treatment.
- Avoid aspirin, alcohol, fish oil, ibuprofen post treatment for 24 hours. Blood thinners can contribute to bruising.
- A mild headache is normal side effect of neurotoxins, take Tylenol as directed.
- Mild swelling and bruising
- Redness and/or tenderness at the injection site
- Mild discomfort
